Recommend! I bought the set and am so very pleased! I have two border collies with long hair that mats easily, heavy undercoats, and very thick coats all year. Previously, I used an electric trimmer to remove the mats. Now, the dematting tool now does this job, removing mats easily without traumatizing the dog, and doesn't leave chunks of missing fur like the trimmer. For heavy mats and dense undercoat, short brush strokes work the best. The blades of the dematting tool are sharp and care should be taken removing the fur from the blades; in fact, using a comb to remove the fur and mats from the dematting tool is best. The longer metal pins on the slicker brush are perfect for brushing deep into the undercoat.
