I love this knife. While it isn’t necessarily the best Mora for the money, it also isn’t super expensive for the quality you’re getting here. I love that it has the unfinished blade spine, and I can confirm that this does help with using a fire steel. I’ve also seen reviews say that the unfinished spine makes it uncomfortable to use in a pushing based carving style. Firstly, I wouldn’t get this specifically as a carving knife, though for me it does work well for that in addition to other functions. And secondly, the spine hasn’t really been noticeably uncomfortable while carving, even when I do push the spine of the blade (which is at least 50-60% of the time for my carving style). Something I was skeptical about was the compound grind on this blade. But, even though this is a pretty small fixed blade, the compound grind actually does work well for it. It doesn’t sacrifice the ease of sharpening the blade, because the scandi grind angle actually remains consistent throughout the blade, so it’s still one relatively easy to find sharpening angle. And, the compound aspect of the grind allows you to have a greater variety of cutting angles when you need that kind of thing. In terms of blade steel, I think you’d have unrealistically high expectations for this price point to be disappointed by its quality. It’s nice and stiff, sharpens relatively easily, and holds an edge, even with a true scandi grind. This knife does come sharp out of the box, but with about an hour of work, some varying grades of sandpaper and strop, it’s actually really easy to take that sharpness up a notch and put a real razor edge on the knife. The handle is great for a guy with big hands like me, and the grip on it works well. My only real gripe with this is the sheath. For me, when I wear this knife and I go hiking, I can be jumping around a little, climbing a bit, and other higher energy activities. And I have had situations where it’s fallen out of the sheath because of an impact that I would really expect a good sheath to hold well against. Because of this, if you’re going to particularly active while wearing this, to add a quick release stopper knot on a land yard through the hole on the end of the handle to make sure everything is as safe as can be. Other than that, I’d strongly recommend this!A lot of people are skeptical of buying such a small knife, but this thing is great. Whether it be food prep, opening things, or creating feather sticks on your next backcountry adventure. You can't baton with it, but you can work around that. I love mine, and it's so easy to handle and control. I would highly recommend this knife.Morakniv makes excellent knives and this one is no exception, it packs the same high quality of their larger knives into a smaller package. Great steel ( easy to sharpen), handle and sheath, a very handy camp or EDC knife or some pack one with their firestarter kits as the back of the blade has a good sharp 90 degree grind to make it an excellent ferro rod striker for a fire starter and for shaving wood for starter, the blade is exceptionally sharp and very useful for making tinder and feather sticks as well as everyday camp chores that may require a knife. Quality made and handy knife at a very affordable price, i recommend getting one, you'll be glad you didi take it with me when im out in our warehouse, i mainly cut shrinkwrap or cardboard and it does it with ease. i gave it a nice edge with my wet stones because it wasnt super sharp when i first purchased it. overall happy with itComfortable knife to carry and use and it’s great for carving up sticks for outdoor projects. The 90 degree spine made smoothing out an improvised walking stick very easy and the blade was great for removing branches and knots, cutting cordage, and everyday tasks. It feels great in the hand. I like the knife so much I am buying more for family and friends, and an extra one for myself as well.Other than my dog chewing the absolute piss out of the sheath, this knife is by far my favorite when taking camping. I use it for everything and I do mean everything. Only thing it doesn’t do well is stay in its holster (and not in a bad way) I seriously can not stop using this knifeThis is my favorite knife. Fits in a pocket well and holds an edge for a fair while. Gotta admit its a bit easy to lose. So maybe dont go with black, i have yet to lose my red one. To be determined i supposeMy son loves this knife to wittle with. I have honed it a couple times on my leather power strop and have yet to have to sharpen it for him. With a nice size handle, it doesn't feel like such a short blade. Very controllable for small intricate work like whittling or carving but the blade is thick enough and overall sturdy enough to do bigger tasks. I will definitely be buying one for myself!!Might not be completely uk legal to open carry but its under 3 inches on the blade.. and if you do lots of outside activities its worth it.dislike the sheath it comes in, but there no others.as its quite thin the blade could be used in twitting but i would find the handle to small.overall a good sized knife.. doubt it would survive any durability test but its good for small thingsAn excellent addition to my camping kit. Very sharp and stays sharp, just big enough for most camping tasks. This is a great knife. I use it all the time. Highly recommended. I do recommend buying the neck knife kit and it will add extra security to the retention.Great little knife. Highly recommended
