I'm male... 57, thinning quite a bit on top.... the usual stuff. No need for a barber or hair stylist... I just put on the #1 guard and clip away. With these clippers, coupled with the metal guards, i no longer have to stop clipping every 60sec to clear the guard and blade of clumps of hair stuck, blocking the blade from cutting. Frustrating, and a literal pain. Now, the hair just falls free from the blade and guard, and I no longer have to stop clipping, remove the hair, remove the guard, remove more hair, and replace the guard, just to cut my hair. This was a very important feature for me to have.... this is why I paid a little more than double the price of the other brand I'd used to use. After all, quality comes at a price. As for the rest of the clipper; It does not come with guards (which didn't bother me). Also, it's a little bit heavier and louder than I'm used too, again no bother. It does have a long, heavy-duty power cord. Now I just hope it lasts. There are complaints in the reviews that the clipper has a loud clattering sound. This is because the motor in the clipper is sensitive to voltage fluctuations, which can wary between neighborhoods. To fix this there is a dial on the clipper on the opposite side of the switch. It can be adjusted with a flathead screw driver. Just turn it on and turn the dial clockwise until you hear the clattering, than slowly turn it back counter clockwise and stop when the clattering disappears. For the product itself there isn't much to say. It's a high quality product. Metal body, brushless motor, high carbon blades. For 80$ I can't complain even if I wanted to.If you keep it in the bathroom make sure you oil the blade regularly to prevent rust from the humid enviroment.Happy clipping!I bought these clippers along with at trimmer back at the start of 2020 when Covid started so I could cut my own hair (with a fade and/or taper).I’m halfway though 2022 and they still run amazingly. And I still cut my own hair. I never have any issues with them. Cutting your own hair takes some time and they definitely start to heat up after about 45mins of use (not surprising) but they still function great and are going strong.I don’t get nicks or pulling. And I have yet to even change my blade out. I do take it apart and clean it, and oil it but other than that. It operates great without any problems.Easy to use, very stylish, works well & look good. All good.I upgraded a pair of Andis Envy's and these are miles better. The motor is significantly stronger and they are compatible with the magnetic blade guards. I would highly recommend these for at home use.Bit heavyNoise level is desent, Very well made product made by Andis. Used it to cut my sons hair during pandemic. I recommend this product. This is the worst experience i ever had with amazon i didn't even know it was possible... ** LOOK AT PICTURES ** The product is far from brand new. When i open the package and look at the clipper there was scratches everywhere.. the worst is when i found "unknown" kind of hair in and out of the cutting erea and on the blade or screws. DISGUSTING !!!This is a great set of clippers. They work well. They cut hair smoothly. Good solid feel.I docked two stars as I needed to promptly take it apart to adjust it. There issues I observed:- The whole head was rotated a few degrees off centre. More notable with plastic guards clipped in.- Cutting blades were cutting off centre- Adjustment arm was a bit stiff. To tweak:- Open top cover to expose cutting top blade adjustments. Trying to centre the cutting blade perpendicular to the body, but also moving it out to have a better zero.- Loosen blade pad/guide (four small screws) on the underside to make the adjustment lever smoother.- Adjust the the guard blade to match the top blade- Adjust side to side offset of the cutting blade with the small screw on the side. It will centre it.Everything is still slightly crooked but there was no more room for adjustability. I suspect there is a large degree of manufacturing slop. The clippers work fine but I expected more for the price. The first set I ordered came with hair in the box- so it was obviously a used and returned product which was then passed off on to me.Needless to say I sent it back. I was sent a replacement model, but I have found this one to be very loud- gets a very loud, sharp buzzing noise which is really shocking. I've oiled them, readjusted but not any better. Plus, these clippers get hot. Not sure if these are defective, but I'm really unhappy with them. I've been cutting hair professionally for 15 years and I'm not sure why these clippers get such great reviews. Wish I could return these but I was so discouraged with the second set I let too much time pass trying to make them work, and now I've had them for too long to return. I've had them for over a year now and I don't even bother picking them up and trying to use them anymore. What a waste.Andis box was ripped upon deliveryOn/Off switch was loose and the clipper would stay on the entire timeLever was looseI was buying this clipper to replace my current one - says the condition of the product is new but it has clearly been used. Be careful when purchasing this, YOU ARE NOT GETTING A BRAND NEW CLIPPER!This product is labeled and sold as "New" but the clippers I received had literal fingerprints on them along with some hair in and around the blade, clearly indicating they've been used. Although I read the reviews about other consumers receiving used product; I chalked if off as unlikely and maybe they got unlucky with their package.. But after also receiving used product I just don't know anymore how this posting is still available when it's clearly misleading and is very untruthful business. I will be contacting Amazon for an exchange to hopefully receive brand NEW clippers as advertised..
