I used this on an old, outdated fan and it made it look more modern without having to change out the fan which works quite well (I also updated the pulls). My fan is very similar to the picture but the end of my blades are curved, and the covers still work well. I only wish the open end had a cinch in addition to the elastic, but I'm pretty happy with the look. They do catch and show dust easily but are washable. I'd say a minimum of monthly washing whether you use it or not.
